Overall, approximately $11,300,000 is available for the initiative, and they expect to select a total of roughly 10 projects depending on funding availability and final award amounts. Topic A (Enhance): The maximum amount for an individual award is $300,000. TechWerx intends to issue between four (4) and eight (8) awards under Topic A.
Topic B (Establish): The maximum amount for an individual award is $2,000,000. TechWerx intends to issue between three (3) and six (6) awards under Topic B.

Description:
U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office (HGEO) and Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs (IE) are soliciting applications from institutions of higher education (IHEs) through the Partnerships for Academic-Career Training (PACT) Initiative. Awards will establish regional consortia which must include at least one two-year IHE (e.g., vocational schools, trade schools, technical colleges, community colleges, Tribal colleges), at least two industry employers, and at least one workforce development entity. The prime applicant must be an IHE and must have signed documentation of commitment from each consortium partner.
The University of Minnesota may be listed as the "Prime Applicant" on only ONE proposal. However, the University may be involved in other applications with a separate IHE as the Prime Applicant. Only PIs planning to submit a proposal as the Prime Applicant need to submit an internal application (described below in "UM Nominations Process").

2. Project summary, including solicitation-specific information (not more than three pages).
3. Biosketch of PI and any co-PI's (2 - 5 pages, NSF format).
4. 3-5 names of possible UMN reviewers
(NOT References) (with no Conflicts of Interest) plus 5 keywords to be used as search terms for possible reviewers (can be added to Cover Page)
